The School will have an early finish for pupils at the close of term at Christmas, Easter and Summer.
Five of the days when the School is closed will be professional development days for teachers and holidays for pupils (three of which are listed above; the remaining two are run in twilight sessions during the year).
It is both the Governors and the Headteacher’s expectation that as term dates are published well in advance, parents should plan holidays etc. accordingly. Taking a pupil on leave during term time interrupts learning and disrupts a pupil’s educational progress. The school strongly discourages such absence and will only grant leave of absence in exceptional circumstances. Leave is unlikely to be granted for the purposes of a family holiday. Parents are asked to note that where a pupil is absent from school without the School’s permission, such an absence is recorded as unauthorised.
