There is much more to the education of our pupils at Ermysted’s than simply what happens in the classroom during lessons.

Sport

Pupils are encouraged to become involved in the wider life of the school, and to take part in the many activities which run before school, at lunch times and after school as part of a vibrant enrichment programme. The school is very proud of the sporting achievement of our pupils, both within school; with recent successes of teams such as the Key Stage 4 badminton team reaching the national finals or the senior cross country team being selected to represent England in the ISF World School Cross Country Championship in Slovakia or outside of school, with pupils being selected for the national squad in fencing or representing Yorkshire and England in rugby.

The school is committed to continuously extending and improving our extra curricular provision, with the recent addition of Cross Fit, Ultimate Frisbee and table tennis to extra curricular programme of sessions, the investment into our facilities; such as the resurfacing of our tennis courts and sports hall and the exploration of new projects; such as the extending our climbing facilities and seeking approval to improve our outdoor facilities, all contribute to an exciting element of school life at Ermysted’s where every pupil is made to feel welcome.

“The range of opportunities on offer have allowed me to discover a love for sports I hadn’t even considered before joining Ermysted’s.
