About the Friends’ Association

Ermysted’s Friend’s Association is an entirely voluntary organisation and a registered charity. We are a group of volunteers that aims to bring together the entire school community. We warmly welcome new members to join and be a part of social activities and to help us in any way they can with fundraising activities. Many of us are parents who fit our volunteering around family and work and we welcome all to the EFA community. Our events are often enthusiastically supported by students, staff and the wider school community.

The Friends’ Association has two main objectives:
1) Social connection and public relations
2) Essential fundraising to enrich the boys’ education

Why should I get involved?

Life at secondary school is a big change from primary school for our boys. However, for many parents, it can be a time of adjustment, too. Supporting the Friends’ Association is a great way to still feel a part of school life (without cramping your son’s style and growing independence).

How can I get involved?

Get in touch with us via email to offer your support – we would love to have you on board.

Introduce yourself to us via email: pa@ermysteds.uk.

There is a natural season to school life and as we annually say farewell to leavers’ and their families, we also say hello to new boys and their families. We are always ready to welcome fresh energy and ideas from students, parents and carers, old boys, grandparents and staff.

Some of our volunteers become committee members and some only occasionally make it to meetings.
Some of our supporters help with our social media and graphics while some prefer to bake cakes for events.
Some of us are idea generators and others work to make their ideas happen.
Some friends love to help at every event and some will faithfully come along to just one event a year.

Do get in touch. The more support we have the more events we can hold allowing us to provide valuable extra funds, but also to enhance the lives of the boys’ entire school experience, both socially and culturally.

Whatever your time availability or talent, we look forward to getting to know you soon.
